MBM Mobile 2138i

MBM Mobile. Hmm… haven't heard of them. Maybe because the boxes are so tiny that you may not even see it in a mobile store and besides, the company is just 7 years old. As for advertising... I haven't seen too much of that around. MBM has inexpensive phones with multimedia features, it seems. I have had a chance to check out one of the phones and lets just say, I'm not too thrilled.

Design / Functions
It's a light-weight phone and quite compact. The 65k color display is clear enough but what I'm most stumped about, is the interface and how close it resembles that of a Nokia series 40 phone interface. For all ex-Nokia users out there who'd consider buying the MBM 2138i, it won't be too much of a switch. Using the functions and settings will come naturally. Maneuvering through the menus are simple enough (It's the same Nokia UI, after all) and the screen is a decent size of 1.5-inches with 128x128 resolution, making it alright for viewing.

Messaging is a bit tricky as it's not exactly like your Nokia interface there. Odd, huh? And with the keys being a wee bit too close together it tends to be a little difficult typing. But nothing you can't get used to. In time. But is it worth the time? I don't think so.

The 2138i does come with a couple of games as well. One being Sudoku, which seems to be what everyone's into these days.

I'll say this about the design though, it does look and feel quite classy with its black and silver finish.

It also tends to simply cut off from time to time during a conversation, seemingly due to lack of coverage, but it's just possible it could be a problem with this one piece.
