Transcend T.Sonic T650

As DAPs go Transcend is a name that easily comes to mind. Its players are usually simple and neat with plenty of features. The T.Sonic T650 is one such, but how well those features work is what I’m here to tell you about; so let’s get to it.

Form Factor
As I said earlier, the T650 is neat-looking player with keys that are somewhat easy to use. It's very convenient to carry around. Of course, the weight of just 30g makes it easier. The T650 has a four-line OLED display in front with a five way nav-pad beside it.

The ‘Hold’ switch is located on top and so is the record button that doubles as the loop key. There’s a Folder Selection as well as Menu key located right beside it. The T650 has a 3.5mm earphone socket on the side and for PC connectivity there's a standard mini USB port on the bottom. There really isn’t too much more one can say about the design.

Features and Performance
When it comes to features this little DAP is quite loaded. Let’s start off with the less-used features. The T650 has a Digital Voice Recorder that is really good, with superb range. I left the player in the middle of the room and it recorded all the ambient sounds well enough for me to decipher specific people’s voices and conversions. The recordings were clean and clear. Other features include a Real Time Clock (RTC) that displays local and world times.

Would you buy it?
