A few tips to get you started with leveling up...
|
The experience of exploring an entire new world is the most incredible part of playing an MMORPG – you start off as an insignificant starry-eyed adventurer that has a whole world to explore, lands to conquer, and countless challenges to take on and eventually grow to become a brave knight, a famed wizard or a feared warlock amongst the ranks of a thousand other gamers like you. Maybe someday you’ll start a small guild or fellowship of like-minded people from different walks of life, that’ll grow to become the most powerful forces in your realm; or you could start a shadowy clan of assassins that’d work in perfect coordination to conquer a battlefield – the possibilities are endless, but they’re all there for you to explore; and that is exactly what MMORPGs are all about – the Open-endedness. Even the most epic journeys begin with a single step – so to make your mark on the game world you will have to start leveling your ass up. When your character’s fresh outta the character creation oven, he’ll be level 1, with very few spell/powers/skills, and only the most basic tools required to get started. To grow more powerful you’ve gotta level up, which basically means growing in power by learning from experience. You gain ‘experience’ from killing monsters and completing quests that are in your level range; the area you start off in, usually has a few basic starter quests waiting for you, along with a few critters to stab to gain your initial levels. The most important thing however, is to read the quest description before you start asking people for direction; if you don’t like reading you’ll end up like the bigots (that everyone hates) who keep asking retarded questions. So Tip#1 for you is ‘Read thoroughly before you ask a question’. |
