While most of us seem satisfied with our 22 and 24-inch, 1920x1080 resolution monitors, Eizo, one of the world’s top display manufacturers have decided to launched a 36.4-inch display. The new display has a ridiculous native resolution of 4096 x 2160, or what is popularly termed as 4K resolution. The monitor is not meant for everyday use on a desktop computer. Eizo claims that it’s suitable for specialized applications such as air traffic controlling, and where maps of high resolutions are required to be viewed. The monitor can display two 2048 x 2048 resolution views side by side. For specialized purposes only
The display called the DuraVision FDH3601 is equipped with two DisplayPort, two DVI-D and a pair of USB ports for expansion. The display is lit up using LEDs and the monitor has sensors that turns off the display if it senses that the user isn’t in front of the monitor. The monitor’s stand also supports tilting and rotating using which it can be oriented vertically. Eizo is claiming that the display has a response time of 8 ms and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. The price you pay for this kind of resolution is roughly $36,000 (approximately Rs. 16,20,000). Eizo will start shipping this product on the 7th of September, this year. |
