Google I/O Developer’s Conference will conclude today. But, it has given its users surprises that will last for some time. Among the other surprises, Google unveiled the new, improved look of the Honeycomb-based UI.

Smart TV, indeed!

Smart TV, indeed!

Users should find the new UI integrated onto their live TV viewing experience, soon. The new UI does look a lot better than its predecessor. For starters, there is ample space provided above the widgets that is reserved for notifications. Also, one of the most exciting bits of this update was the fact that the source code for the Google TV remote for Android just went open source, and that brings to the fore an opportunity like never before for developers. Also, the Anymote Protocol code has been made available to the developers.

The latest UI also makes provisions for 3D support, as also game controllers with expanded USB compatibility. With a horde of such promises being made, and a host of smart TV professionals being around in the market, Google has some tough competition to beat.
