Samsung Jealous of LG's New TV?

| by Siddharth Basrur | 3D TVs

According to sources, LG has launched the world’s first ‘Flicker Free’ 3D TV, the LW5700. They come with passive glasses that are apparently super light and use the same technology as the ones found in movie halls. The TV is also supposed to be a lot cheaper and is aimed at consumers who can’t really afford high end 3D TVs. But that doesn’t mean that it has fewer features. It has everything from Wi-Fi and DLNA to LG’s Smart TV function. This TV is due to release in March this year.

But wait; there’s a twist in the tale. Sources say that Samsung has retaliated by saying that LG is taking a step backwards. Now is poor wittle Samsung feeling threatened? It certainly does seem so. They’ve actually said that the technology is obsolete and that this is in no way the technology of the future. Whoa! Now that’s a little harsh, isn’t it? Well, Samsung’s sales were apparently not up to the mark last year, so I guess they’ve got every reason to feel insecure.

I personally feel that LG may have a shot at this, as their sales will almost certainly be driven up by the announcement of a cheaper 3D TV.
