Don't let the headline fool you, it's almost completely a gimmick by case maker, G-Form. Their latest commercial involves taking an iPad wearing a G-Form Extreme Edge to space and dropping it back to the planet. The iPad, of course, survives in the end, despite falling back on some pretty rugged terrain. G-Form says that their products absorb 90 percent of the energy when impacted at high speed. The video contains footage shot from cameras placed on the iPad itself, so it makes for a pretty entertaining view of the borders of the planet. That is, if you're really not interested in watching an iPad pummel back to earth and stay alive. Watch the video below to check it out.
The case that they use, the Extreme Edge sells for $44.95 (approx Rs.2,370). According to Mashable, G-Form does a lot of stunts to showcase their products, including tossing iPads from speeding cars, launching iPads with slingshots, and using an iPad as a frisbee. |
