Samsung and Belkin team up to bring accessories to Galaxy devices

18 Aug, 2011, 5:26 pm IST | by Shayne Rana | Accessories

Taking their cue from Apple’s iPhone and all the many accessories designed for it, Samsung has just formed a strategic partnership with Belkin India to provide an exclusive range of accessories for Galaxy S smartphone and Galaxy Tab tablets. This way all users with Galaxy branded devices will have access to specific accessories designed for their handset or tablet.

The idea behind this tie up is to try and provide consumers with a sort of one-stop-shop for Galaxy models and accessories allowing consumers the chance to choose from a wide assortment of products. With the Belkin branding on board, accessories for specific models will make it out at the launch of the devices themselves. Some of the accessories for the Galaxy S Smartphone and Galaxy Tab would include -

  • A selection of leather and TPU cases that will give easy access to the gadgets
  • Screen overlays to protect the screen from scratches and scuffs
  • Wall and Car chargers
  • Bluetooth music receivers for Car and home

Speaking about the partnership, Mohit Anand, Managing Director, India Subcontinent Belkin Inc. said, “The trendy, stylish and durable Belkin accessories for Samsung intend to protect the products and provide an individual statement to its customers.” “Belkin accessories aim at enhancing the digital experience along with, increasing the style quotient of the users. Additionally, the quality of Belkin products speaks for itself.

Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Samsung Mobile India said, “We believe Belkin accessories perfectly complement the sleekness and stylish form factor of the Galaxy S Smartphone and Galaxy Tablets.”

Oddly there was no mention of the Galaxy S II, which is their latest model or their Galaxy Tab 10.1, which is due to hit shelves in early September, if not sooner. The Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab are quite outdated now and although the Tab might not have made too much of an impact, the Galaxy S more than made up for it.
