5 men were arrested in the UK on charges of "recent and ongoing 'distributed denial of service' attacks by an online group calling themselves 'Anonymous'". Anonymous is a group behind the recent attacks on individuals and companies trying to impede the work of Wikileaks. The men were between the ages of 16 and 25 and were arrested on Thursday morning. The police didn't specify whether the arrests were made in relation to the pro-Wikileaks attacks. This international controversy is creating secret societies Last month, a number of organizations were involved in hacking to attack corporations and individuals that were against Wikileaks. Victims of these attacks included Mastercard and Visa Europe, both of whom denied financial services to Wikileaks. The tension rose when Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange faced allegations of sexual misconducts in Sweden. Two arrests of people associated with Anonymous were also made in December by the Dutch police, one of the arrested was associated directly with the attacks on Mastercard and Visa. In the past, Anonymous have also attacked the Church of Scientology and the US law enforcement agencies have been well aware of this group for two years now. It looks like we've got another Illuminati type organization on our hands. Computer specialists say Anonymous has no hierarchical structure and is just a loose group of individuals who communicate over chat rooms and recruit over Twitter. |
