Brain Controlled Prosthetic Arm Invented

| by Rossi Fernandes |

Prosthetic limbs are by themselves a huge achievement in advancements. There has been a major breakthrough where the prosthetic limb can now be controlled by the mind. The advancement now allows for more flexible movement of the limbs. The individual only needs to think of the motion and the signals sent from the brain through the nerves is picked up by sensors and sent to the prosthetic limb.

Jesse Sullivan is one of the first few to get such a prosthetic limb. Eight years ago, he went through surgeries which enabled him to use the new prosthetics. Most amputees lose control  over the nerves but Sullivan was able to keep control over them which is why he can control the prosthetics. Signals sent by the brain were interpreted by muscles but with the prosthetics, a processor interprets the signals. The Northwestern university in the US are studying more brain patterns to see if those can be used with the prosthetic limbs.

 6.5

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is the only new 10.1-inch Android tablet to launch this year. And with no one to contend against, it is commanding a substantial premium in the market. This is not any run-of-the-mill tablet, though. The care and polish delivered by Sony is simply brilliant as we’ll see in a bit.
