Driving Mr. Tanner... Straight to Ubisoft

17 Jul, 2006, 5:00 pm IST | by Avinash Bali |

Atari's future isn't looking too bright nowadays, with the publisher filing for losses left, right and centre. In order to stay afloat (for a while at least) they've sold off their Driver franchise to Ubisoft for a cool 24 million USD. "We are thrilled with this acquisition which will allow us to add a prestigious title to our catalogue and to enter into the driving games segment, one of the most important segments in the gaming industry. We look forward to leveraging the unique knowledge of the Ubisoft studios to ensure that Driver will be one of the leading brands of the next generation of consoles", said Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft. Let's hope we get something better than Parallel Lines and Driv3r this time round.driv3r.jpg
