The Silent Hill series have always set the benchmark for horrific games that mess with your mind for days on end. That did change a bit with Silent Hill: Homecoming, a game that focused a lot more on all action than psychological terror. But that's about to change once again as Konami are going supposedly going back to their roots for the next Silent Hill game (that’s yet to be named by the way). The new game begins after a prison transport vehicle careens off the road, leaving lone inmate Murphy Pendleton stranded in Silent Hill. As Pendleton takes in his new surroundings, users will encounter mind-bending puzzles and horrific creatures and otherworld terrors. Armed only with the everyday objects they can find - from wooden chairs to glass bottles - to fend off their enemies, fight or flight responses are left to the player as they unravel a dark, thought-provoking storyline which will appeal to fans of the early, classic Silent Hill series. Expect the game for the Xbox360 and PS3 sometime later next year. |
