| New Delhi based gaming Company, ZMQ Software Systems, plans on spreading awareness about AIDS by releasing four mobile games that will educate people about this sexually transmitted disease. As of now, these games are only available to Reliance Infocomm subscribers, but the company plans on going global with them by the 1st of September with content and language to suit diffrent countries. According to Hilmi Quraishi, chief director of ZMQ Software Systems, nearly 2.9 million have downloaded these games since December 2005. "The four games available as of now are Ribbon Chase, Messenger, Quiz with Babu, and Demons XI and Safety XI, a cricket-based game involving balls in the form of condoms, faithful partners, information on HIV and the symbolic AIDS red ribbon. Winning the game entails avoiding googlies and doosra balls - unsafe sex, infected blood transfusions, infected syringes and the company of bad friends." Quarishi's brother, Subhi, chief executive officer of ZMQ Software Systems, had this to say,"We have people across the board using mobiles - school children, adolescents, adults. And we are not talking of the urban population only. Even in rural areas the cell phone has become popular. It is our corporate social responsibility to spread HIV/AIDS awareness using latest technologies and that is why we have undertaken this project." Noble cause indeed guys, we wish you all the best with your endeavor. |
