Gears Of War Coming To Kinect?

Kinect seems to be enjoying a fair bit of success ever since its launch earlier this month. Even though the initial line-up of games is strictly targeted toward the casual gamer, it seems Microsoft is gearing (pun intended) up the big guns for a “hardcore” Kinect game. According to sources close to IGN, Microsoft is all set to incorporate Kinect functionality in a Gears of War game at the Spike VGA awards this December. How do we do this without a controller? As of now there’s no word on whether this is an all new game set in the Gears universe to accommodate Kinect or if it’s just a gimmick to draw in some of the crowds but I am most curious to see how this would work. How would you take cover? How would you chainsaw? How would the casual gaming crowd adjust to such a violent game? Or would they tone the game down to accommodate their sensitive tastes? I guess all these and more would be answered next month. In the meantime do let us know what you think of this unholy reunion in the comments below. |
