Infosys, Aircel in Pact for Mobile Applications

05 Jan, 2010, 7:49 pm IST | by Reuters |

Indian mobile operator Aircel, a unit of Malaysia's Maxis, on Tuesday said it has signed a pact with No. 2 software exporter Infosys Technologies to offer a range of mobile phone applications.

Under the agreement, Infosys will implement its new application platform called Flypp for the Aircel project, the companies said in a joint statement. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. In the wake of fierce competition, operators across the world are innovating and offering customers new applications on their handsets such as navigation maps, downloadable videos, games and music. Infosys launched Flypp, which mobile operators can use as a technology platform to offer a wide spectrum of applications, in December.
