Iomega Backs up Your Data and Charges your iPhone like a SuperHero

29 Jan, 2011, 4:37 pm IST | by Sriram Gurunathan |

In the list of things one doesn't want happening to them, losing their iPhone contacts and data ought to be somewhere on the list. Never fear, however, because Iomega's SuperHero Backup Manager and Charger for iPhone is here to avoid just that.

Like a bo- *ahem* SuperHero

The SuperHero will, once the SuperHero app from the App Store gets installed, automatically open the app and ask if you want to backup your data onto an SD card and if you say yes, it will perform the backup onto a 4GB SD card, all the while charging your device. Initial backups are reported to take quite a while, but later ones will only back up additional data that wasn't present the last time you performed a backup.

A SuperHero never plays favourites, so the Iomega SuperHero will of course backup more than one device's contacts and data. Everytime you plug a new iPhone in, it will ask you to name the new one and will back up its data too. Restoring is equally as simple. And if you ever start running out of space, the SD card capacity is upgradable.

The Iomega SuperHero is compatible with the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. It will also backup data from the 3rd and 4th Generation iterations of the iPod Touch. The handy backup manager and charger will be available starting February 14, 2011 at select retailers across the country like Croma, Reliance Digital and E-Zone, as well as via distributors and Iomega's website.

This SuperHero, unlike others, can be bought off with money - Rs. 4,499, to be precise. It will carry a 3-year limited warranty, but only if the device is registered.
