No this isn't a typo, there's actually a character out there who goes by the name of Lava Kroft and she's the star of her very own mobile game, called, well... Lava Kroft (I swear, I'm not making this up). Eidos, the developers behind Lara Croft are not flattered nor are they amused; in fact they're planning on taking legal action against the company responsible for this game, Singapore based Ozura.
"The game first came to our attention yesterday evening. We have contacted our legal department and brand team who are currently investigating the matter," said an Eidos spokesperson to gamesindustry.biz
In case, you're wondering what Lava Kroft is all about, sink your teeth in this juicy press release:
Lava Kroft, 26, a new age woman with exceptional thirst for adventure has discovered some of the most intriguing and mystical treasures in the world. Lava Kroft is the only daughter to Prince Cedric. After the death of her father, she inherited his estates and turned to a life of treasure hunting. Since then, she has been credited with the discovery of some 18 archeological sites of international significance. She has been hailed both as an archeologist and a glorified treasure hunter (talk about coincidences) However, her constant internal struggles with her addiction to danger, myth and man may consume her and ultimately lead her to her doom.OMG, They killed originality! |
