Telligent, a provider of web-based collaborative solutions, has announced a new service, BlogMailr.com, available worldwide that enables anyone to publish to their blog using any email software from any device—PC, Mac, Phone or PDA. "Publishing to your blog is too difficult today. Most blogs either have really confusing publishing tools with too many options, or you are forced to download and install software on your computer. BlogMailr is all about making blog publishing easy," said Rob Howard, CEO of Telligent. Users do not have to download, or install anything and BlogMailr works with all popular blogging software. "If you can send an email you've got everything you need to use BlogMailr," said Howard. BlogMailr relies on a common service, known as the MetaBlog API, supported by all popular blogging platforms including—Community Server, WordPress, MSN Spaces, MovableType, Blogger, LiveJournal and others. "We think it's silly not to take advantage of the tools you already use, such as Microsoft Outlook or your BlackBerry, that already perform all the tasks you need in creating a blog entry," said Howard, who is himself a blogger. "We wanted a simpler blogging tool. Something that supported drafts, archiving, spell checking, writing and searching off-line (like when you're on a plane); had some basic formatting; and, worked well with attachments and images. Guess what? Email already does all these things." BlogMailr is free for personal use and is available at here. |
