PlayUp has announced live cricket-based games for your mobile phones. If you’ve just been glued to your TV, you can get away without taking your mind off cricket. Well that’s how these games seem to be, but let’s take a look at them anyway. Play up or pay up! The company will be launching three games called PowerUp, Next Wicket and 6UP. PowerUp lets people predict the number of runs hit during the Power Play session of a match while Next Wicket involves a user predicting which will be the next wicket to fall. There’s no word about what 6UP is all about, though it could be about predicting the number of sixes in an innings or match . Anyway, the points you earn can be redeemed by PlayUp’s Players Exchange (PSX) redemption engine. The stuff you get in return of points include match jerseys, player memorabilia and more. These games can be played on a wide range of platforms like SMS, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), internet and apps. The games will be covering the Cricket World Cup 2011 held in the Indian subcontinent. |
