Prototype 2 Officially Announced

| by Avinash Bali |

At the Spike VGA awards, Activision unveiled the debut trailer for Prototype 2 and now they’ve issued an official statement reiterating that fact. In case you missed the trailer, Prototype 2 will recount the tale of Sgt. James Keller, a soon to be retired veteran who comes home to find New York in ruins. Devastated at the fact that he’s lost everything he ever loved, he embarks on a suicidal mission trying to kill as many infected as humanly possible.

Fate unfortunately has other plans for him and an encounter with Alex Mercer, the protagonist from the first game mutates him into the same powerhouse Mercer became. Armed with some insanely violent powers, Keller will now attempt to "Destroy his Maker".

How badly will you mess NYC up again?

Here’s what Ken Rosman, Studio Head at Radical Entertainment had to say on the game, "When PROTOTYPE surpassed 2MM units we knew gamers would want a sequel to find out what happens next with Alex Mercer. The team here at Radical is sincerely grateful to the fans and we are laser focused on delivering an even bigger and better experience with PROTOTYPE 2!"

Not really very informative Ken but at least now we know Prototype 2 will be released sometime in 2012 for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC.

Oh and in case you missed the first game do check it out ASAP as I personally thought it was one of the most "Cathartic gaming experiences in recent times".

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is the only new 10.1-inch Android tablet to launch this year. And with no one to contend against, it is commanding a substantial premium in the market. This is not any run-of-the-mill tablet, though. The care and polish delivered by Sony is simply brilliant as we’ll see in a bit.
