Rockstar has leased Natural Motion's Euphoria engine for its upcoming Xbox 360 and PS3 titles (they aren't saying it but we all know it's for GTA IV); in fact both the companies claim that the work is well underway following months of collaboration between the two companies. With the Euphoria engine, animations are generated on the fly by the CPU as the game is played "to provide unprecedented interactivity and realism and give users a true next-generation gaming experience". In case you didn't know, this engine is also being used by Lucas Arts for their upcoming next gen Indiana Jones and Star Wars games. |
