Ten Years of Final Fantasy XIII

25 Apr, 2007, 11:00 am IST | by Nikhil Singh |

In an interview with Nintendo Dream, Final Fantasy Versus XIII producer Shinji Hashimoto revealed Square Enix's plans of stretching Fabula Nova Crystallis FFXIII over 10 years. Just like Final Fantasy VII, FFXIII will spawn releases over multiple platforms over the coming years, which will probably include a few movies based in the same universe as well. Here's what Hashimoto said (translated by IGN):

"Different from something like VII, which we expanded upon afterwards, with Fabula Nova Crystallis FFXIII, we've thought about an expansive world setting from the start.

Under the idea of wanting everyone to be sucked into the world for 10 years, we're preparing a number of categories."

Let's hope that Square Enix churns out another game as good as Final Fantasy VII, else the next 10 years will be rather depressing for the Final Fantasy fanatics out there.
