November 2010 was surprisingly a crowded month for racing games. You had Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Gran Turismo 5 and Test Drive Unlimited 2 all releasing more or less at the same time. While EA was fairly confident of taking on the juggernaut that is Gran Turismo 5 head on with Hot Pursuit, Atari seemed to have developed cold feet at the last minute pushing back their racing sim to February 2011. Don't you just want to move here? Test Drive Unlimited 2 like its predecessor will follow an open world structure where players can roam around the picturesque island of Ibiza taking part in races, earning money and buying new rides. In addition to this, anyone can enter the persistent game world and challenge you to a race at any given point in time giving the game a Quasi MMO vibe. New to the game is a co-operative gameplay mode where one player drives while the other navigates. Not really sure how interesting that would be for the navigator but if this game tickles your fancy, you can now pick it up by the 8th of February 2011 for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC. Via 1up |
