The expected release of their latest OS was expected to hit by the last quarter of this year. According to a report by ThisIsMyNext, Eric Schmidt said, “We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October/November, which everyone’s really excited about.”

The upcoming OS from Google is designed to be a universal user interface across both Google mobiles and tablets. The next major operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich is rumoured to be Android 4.0 and will have elements from both Honeycomb, as well as Gingerbread. These operating systems are already available on current Android devices and with them merging together; the Ice Cream Sandwich should be one incredible operating system.

The report goes on to mention that Google’s Andy Rubin will be at the AsiaD conference, which is slated from the 19th to the 21st of October, this year. In all likelihood, Ice Cream Sandwich could be unveiled then. Let us know your reactions about the upcoming Google OS in the comments below.
