Firefox 4 for Android Launched

It appears Mozilla has switched focus from the desktop to the Android platform after the launch of the Firefox 4 browser for desktops. The latest stable version of the Firefox 4 browser for Android was launched yesterday. Mozilla claims that the Firefox browser is several times faster than the default browser bundled by Google on its Android platform. The mobile browser support HTML5 and it can also sync with its desktop counterpart. Some of the elements that it can sync are your bookmarks, history, form details and passwords. Sharing of pages is also possible with contacts on social networking sites. Tabbed browsing is possible just like on the desktop version of the browser and users can also customize what browse they use. 

Still missing Flash support

One critical missing feature is the Flash component. The application is pretty bulky though. It requires about 17MB of internal space on the phone, and that is much more than most other browsers. You can remotely install the browser using the Android Market on the web. Firefox is currently available for the Android platform and the Maemo OS used on Nokia’s N900 device.
