Kindle Updates for Honeycomb Support

Amazon announced an update to that Kindle that would allow support for Android 3.0 Honeycomb, which would make Kindle work on Android tablets. This tablet version has a new layout for newspapers and magazines, trying to take advantage of the tablet format and screen size.

Some new features of the Kindle update include integrated shopping with personalized recommendations, the ability to pause downloads and better word look-up ability. Regular Kindle features like syncing books through Whispersync and one-click purchasing will also be available in this update. The Kindle app has done fairly well on iOS and Android devices with the ability to share content from the app across platforms. With Android tablets poised to come soon to rival the iPad, the Kindle app will be one of the first battlegrounds in this upcoming showdown.
