Close on the heels of the massive redesigns revealed for seven of its websites on Tuesday, Yahoo! has gone ahead and revamped a new look for its mobile products. Now, when you use most of Yahoo’s mobile products, you’ll see a brand new purple look to it.
In a blog post announcing the revamp, Juliana Santarelli, Senior Product Manager, Mobile and Emerging Products for Yahoo wrote that the new look was rolling out globally for mobile products such as Yahoo! Mail, Finance, Homepage, Search, Messenger, News and more.
New look rolling out for mobile web
“We’re focused on building products for where our users are, and that includes mobile apps of course, but it also means providing an awesome mobile web experience, regardless of the device you use. Today many of our global users are accessing their web experiences on feature phones,” wrote Santarelli.
The mobile web experience has been updated to be more consistent with Yahoo’s mobile apps, regardless of what device you’re using. The revamped look will be available for all phones from smartphones to feature phones. This will provide a common, easy to use design to even emerging markets where feature phones are the norm.
Yahoo! redesigned seven of its websites including Yahoo! Sports, Movies, Music and Games to be more consistent with its Weather product available for its apps. The revamped pages sport a simple white font over an image look but still keep the usability the same as before. The Weather website too looks a lot more like its iOS and Android app counterparts that have won many laurels and are widely appreciated.
