Sony Announces New Range of Blu-ray Players

CNET reports that Sony has announced the launch of four new Blu-ray players at CES 2011. These Blu-ray players will cover various price ranges so there’s something for everyone.

Here’s what they’ll be showcasing:

Sony BDP-S380

• Wi-Fi-ready (requires USB wireless LAN adapter sold separately)
• SACD playback
• Bravia Internet Video streaming media suite (Netflix, Amazon VOD, Hulu Plus, Pandora, YouTube, Slacker, Qriosity)
• Media playback over USB port
• Quick start mode
• $150 (Rs. 6780) list price; available in February

Sony BDP-S480

• 3D Blu-ray playback
• DLNA compliant
• Compatible with Sony's new HomeShare wireless audio products
• Can be controlled via iPhone/Android phone app
• $180 (Rs. 8136) list price; available in March

Sony BDP-S580

• Built-in Wi-Fi with WPS
• Streaming video noise reduction
• $200 (Rs. 9,040) list price; available in March

Sony BDP-S780

• 2D-to-3D up-conversion processing
• Skype capable with separate USB TV camera (sold separately)
• $250 (Rs. 11,300) list price; available in April

Sony has obviously decided to step their game up a couple of notches as other electronics companies are also unveiling some pretty cool products. For instance, Samsung will be showing off the world’s slimmest Blu-ray player, which looks really gorgeous. But I’m pretty sure that Sony will have their share of limelight at CES 2011, as these Blu-ray players have some pretty cool features.
