God of War 2 Announced

20 Mar, 2006, 7:42 am IST | by Avinash Bali | Console

The sequel to one of the PS2's finest action titles has officially been announced. God of War: Divine Retribution, will be developed by Sony's Santa Monica studios and will feature the protagonist from the previous title, Kratos, as he embarks on a journey packed with death, mayhem, carnage and destruction. Kratos will be granted a couple of new abilities like being able to fly and he'll also be endowed with new climbing skills, magical skills and a number of weapons and power-ups. Slated for a February 2007 release, GOW 2 will be released for the PS2 and not the PS3. This information doesn't trouble me at all, as Sony is well aware of the PS2's hardware capabilities and is capable of churning out a visually mind-blowing experience. gow_thumb.jpg
