Razer Releases the Razer Onza XBOX360 Controllers

11 Jan, 2011, 4:38 pm IST | by Sriram Gurunathan | Console

Razer showcased their Onza XBOX360 controllers at CES 2011, but we didn’t pay much attention because they don’t have a track record of releasing console accessories in India. We should’ve paid more heed though, because Razer have surprised us with a flamboyant announcement of the Onza controllers releasing in our fair country.

Get ready to boom-boom your enemies dead.

Resistance is futile, apparently, to the release of the Razer Onza Tournament and Standard Edition XBOX360 controllers, “beasts of gaming that will let gamers mercilessly maul opponents”. The hysterical console gamers in our land will supposedly storm our shopping malls and game outlets (good luck, InOrbit and Landmark).

“We predict mass hysteria in-stores, people will fight over fast-selling stock. Blood might be spilled,” said Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff, president Razer USA. “So I recommend pre-ordering for minimal stress and safety issues. With the Razer Onza controllers, we are excited to bring the attention to detail and precision we give our PC gaming peripherals to the Xbox 360.”

The controllers feature Multi-function buttons on the shoulders which will allow remapping of key buttons. They will also have 15-foot cables with quick-release USB connectors, Hyperesponce action buttons and will be compatible with PCs. The tournament edition will also have analog sticks whose resistance can be customized.

Product Features:

  • 2 Adjustable resistance analog sticks (Tournament Edition only)
  • 2 Multi-Function Buttons
  • 4 Hyperesponse action buttons (Tournament Edition will have backlights)
  • Precision D-Pad
  • Non-slip rubber surface (Tournament), High grip textured surface (Standard)
  • Quick release USB connector
  • Fully PC compatible
  • 15 foot, lightweight cable

The Onza XBOX360 Tournament and Standard edition controllers are priced at $50 and $30 respectively, but we’ve been told rupee prices will be made available soon. We’ll leave you with a particularly impactful quote in the announcement. "Boom! He’s dead.  Boom! She’s dead. You’re just too fast; nothing’s stopping you when you have an Onza in your hands." Heh.
