TGS 2006: UT2K7 PS3 Will be Mod-friendly

25 Sep, 2006, 11:00 am IST | by Avinash Bali | Console

This will definitely come as good news for future PS3 owners who plan to go in for Unreal Tournament 2007 and that is that the game will be mod friendly, if Epic's Tim Sweeny is to be believed. Only clause is that you would have to make the mod on the PC first and then transfer it to the PlayStation 3.

It's a known fact that all Unreal Tournament games enjoy a healthy mod community and it's this community that was an "essential part of Epic's success" as a result of which Sweeny adds that he "would love to transfer this mod community over to the console platforms."

We didn't get a concrete release date unfortunately, but according to Epic's VP, Jay Wilbur, the game will ship in the second or the third quarter of 2007. Head over to gamesutra for the entire interview.
