AMD’s new processor Bulldozer, which is being expected for quite sometime now, is going to be launched in June this year. A total of six FX-series Bulldozer core processors will be launched in June and in July, eleven A-series Llano APUs are going to be launched as well, according to X-bit Labs. There will be dual and quad cores Llanos being launched. Out of the six FX-series processors, two of them are bound to be eight-core processors. The performance of the new Bulldozer processor is rumoured to be around 50 per cent better than existing Phenom processors. Eight-core processors for the first time on desktops
A few days ago, there was news that the AMD Bulldozer would be compatible with existing AM3 sockets, thus eliminating the need to upgrade the platform. The new processors should ideally be run on the next generation chipsets, but using AM3 will allow you to achieve most of the performance as well. There is news that the new socket would be AM3+ and it would have 942 pins as opposed to the 941 pins on the existing AM3 boards. The new processors are likely to be shown off at the E3 show in Los Angeles early June. |
