Acer has revised the price of its entry-level desktop, the EL-1600, bringing it down to Rs. 9,999. "The EL 1600 heralds the arrival of a much-needed computing solution that appeals to the larger audience with an astute combination of pricing and specs," said S Rajendran, Chief Marketing officer - Acer India. "We are confident that with the revision of prices, the EL 1600 will make a significant dent on the Indian PC market. Consumers can now for the first time get a no compromise MNC standard & quality tested desktop for under Rupees ten thousand in the Indian market. Today our country has a PC penetration rate of just over 3%. We believe that this offering will significantly help grow the overall market for PCs in India by offering the entry level PC user a no compromise, full fledged performance machine at a previously unimaginable price." The EL1600 is equipped with an Intel Atom 230 CPU, 160 GB SATA Serial HDD, 1024 MB RAM, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and up to 8 USB Ports. The extra-small form factor desktop is 1/3rd the size of a normal PC. Acer maintains that the reduction in price has been brought about to facilitate more consumers at the entry level from across geographies to enjoy the multitude of benefits offered by this power packed extra small form factor desktop and join the computing bandwagon in India. |
