Dell Updates XPS Range With Quad-Core Setup

Dell with the release of Intel's new quad-core processor has updated its XPS range and released the quad-core powered XPS 710 gaming desktop.


This powerful new machine, which is Windows Vista Premium Ready, starts at $3,699 and ships in a Jet Black chassis. It of course incorporates the new Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700, processor with a 750 W power supply and Dell's 2-year limited XPS warranty. At just a cost of $100 more, it is possible to upgrade to the special edition Formula Red model that packs in a 1kW PSU.


Dell also has updated their monitor lineup and has introduced a new 30-inch variant. The new Dell Ultrasharp 3007WFP-HC 30-inch widescreen monitor has a native resolution of 2560x1600, 8ms response time, an integrated 9-in-2 media reader and four USB 2.0 ports. This new model will be available as part of XPS machines or can be purchased standalone for 1700$.
