Canon recently increased its portfolio here in India with the PowerShot A720 IS and A650 IS, launched in the US back in August. The cameras feature 8MP and 12.1MP respectively, and come with user friendly manual capabilities. Both cameras allow users to create poster-size prints or crop sections of photos without loss of detail. The cameras feature 6x optical zoom lenses and optical image stabilization technology.

The cameras also have an integrated Digital Tele-Converter and Safety zoom - offering all the benefits of digital zoom without the danger of interpolation. Equipped with Canon's DIGIC III processor, they also feature Advanced Noise Reduction Technology that safeguards images against graininess, even at high ISO speeds. Other feature includes Face Detection, AF/AE/FE that locates up to 9 faces before optimizing focus, exposure and flash.

Both cameras feature user-selected settings up to ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto. For particularly dark conditions, the PowerShot A650 IS incorporates a special ISO 3200 scene mode, which captures images at 1600x1200 resolution - perfect for postcard size prints.

The PowerShot A720 IS and A650 IS comes equipped with 19 and 21 different shooting modes respectively, and will be available for Rs 18,995 and Rs 21,995 respectively.
