Fujifilm Launches Six New Digicams

Fujifilm has just launched six new digital cameras spanning various categories that make up the digital camera market today.

Among the new launches is Fujifilm's new J-series of affordable digital cameras. Housed in a compact body just 19mm thick, the FinePix J10 incorporates an 8.2 megapixel CCD sensor, a 2.5" LCD and a 3x Fujinon optical zoom lens. The FinePix J50 takes things a step further, adding a high resolution 2.7", 230K pixel LCD and Fujinon 5x optical zoom that provides a 37-185mm equivalent focal length range. Despite the larger zoom and screen, the J50's compact design makes it only 23mm thick.

The SLR-styled FinePix S8100fd combines user-friendliness with long-zoom versatility and high-speed shooting modes. Continuing on the success of the S8000fd, the 10 megapixel S8100fd integrates a Fujinon 18x wide angle optical zoom fixed lens (27-486mm equivalent), and new Zoom Bracketing and Instant Zoom modes that give more flexibility. The sealed, fixed-lens system prevents dust and eliminates the need for additional zoom or wide angle lenses, making it a good alternative to complex D-SLR systems.

The FinePix S100FS (Film Simulation) is claimed to be Fujifilm’s most advanced D-SLR-styled camera to date. It provides an all-in-one solution for photo enthusiasts and advanced amateur photographers seeking the manual controls and functionality of a D-SLR – but without the bulk or expense of additional lenses and accessories.

The S100FS is equipped with a 14.3x Fujinon manual zoom lens, Fujifilm's 8th generation 2/3" Super CCD sensor with 11 megapixels, third generation RP III processor, 2.5" tiltable LCD and ISO capabilities of up to ISO 6400 (at 6MP) and ISO 10,000 at 3 megapixels.

Photographers will appreciate the ease of use and shooting versatility offered by Optical Image Stabilization and high sensitivity anti-blur systems, Face Detection 2.0 Technology with automatic red-eye removal, and film simulation modes.

The FinePix S1000fd is a compact and lightweight digital camera with an impressive 12x optical zoom lens. Perfect for advanced amateur photographers, the 10 Megapixel S1000fd features a versatile Fujinon 12x optical zoom (33-396mm equivalent), Face Detection Technology with automatic red-eye removal, ISO levels of up to ISO 1600 at full resolution and ISO 3200 at 3 megapixel resolution, and a brand new Panoramic Shooting Mode.

The FinePix F100fd boasts a 2.7" high-resolution 230,000 pixel wide angle view LCD. It offers Wide Dynamic Range, Dual Image Stabilization, Face Detection 3.0 Technology with automatic red-eye removal and ISO settings of up to ISO 12800. The F100fd offers full photographic control (Aperture and Shutter Priority modes) in addition to automatic functions.

All these cameras will be available from UK retailers in March 2008. Pricing will be announced close to the date of the launch.
