Thanko USB Hub/Charger/Speaker Introduced

09 Sep, 2006, 12:30 pm IST | by Aalaap Ghag | Docks

One of the problems with carrying USB-chargeable devices on trips is that if they run out of power, you need a PC or a laptop to recharge them.

Well, not any more. This new-age convergence device from Thanko is at heart a USB hub, but it also acts as a standalone USB power source if you put in a few AA batteries, which can be freely bought over the counter. Not only that - if you've got NiMH batteries, the device can also recharge those if you have access to an AC outlet. Now if all this wasn't enough, the device also has speakers that you can use when connected to a laptop or PC. Anything else? No MP3 player? No LCD? Aww. I guess you can't expect the world for Rs 2,400.
