Nikon's 24MP D3200 DSLR hits India, priced at Rs. 37,950

| by Rossi Fernandes | DSLRs

Nikon’s enjoyed its fair share of success in the entry-level DSLR camera segment. There is a steady move, as more photography enthusiasts are upgrading to the larger format, after using point-and-shoot cameras. Nikon, Canon and Sony all have great value products for offer in the Indian market, as well. Nikon’s last entry-level DSLR offering, the D3100 has been the successor to the D60, D40X, D40, and so on. The new D3200 will succeed the D3100, offering quite a few unique features for a slightly increased price.

There’s a 24MP sensor, which is a a massive upgrade from the 14.2MP sensor used on the D3100. The burst speed mode now goes up to 4 fps, in place of the 3fps on the D3100. The sensitivity range of the D3200 is between 100 and 6400, wider than the D3100. The bundled lens is the usual 18-55mm VR one and the entire thing still weighs the same, but the size of the camera has gone up by a tiny bit. One of the new features on the D3100 was its ability to shoot video - the D3200 improves on it by offering 1080p video recording at 30fps. We expected the product in India to be priced at around the Rs. 36,000 mark when the news of the D3200 was out. Nikon has priced the D3200 at Rs. 37,950. Of course, you have the option of only purchasing the body for a lower Rs. 32,250 or with the 18-105mm VR lens, which will set you back by Rs. 48,950.
