Olympus launches the E-M1 flagship camera in India for Rs 1,05,000

Olympus has announced the new OM-D E-M1, its new premium flagship camera here in India today. The interchangeable lens camera is supposed to be a Micro Four Thirds “successor” to the much-appreciated Olympus E-5 DSLR.

Olympus has also announced a new naming system in place for lens categories across the Micro Four Thirds standard. In addition to the M.ZUIKO PRO lens categories, Olympus also announced the M.ZUIKO Premium lenses that are high-performance and high-quality single-focal-length lenses as well as the M.ZUIKO standard range. The company has announced that all future products that fit this catgeory will be fashioned in this manner.
The camera will be the flagship device for Olympus, which has announced that it is pulling out of the entry-level camera market to shift its focus completely towards the high-end range. The Olympus OM-D E-M1 is set to be released in India around the last week of October to be just in time for Diwali. The camera will be priced at Rs 1,05,000 and if you wish to purchase it along with the 12-50mm lens, the price will go up to Rs 1,19,000. You could also choose to purchase it along with the 12-40mm lens, which will cost you Rs 1,59,000.
