Airtel made a bold statement by announcing that all of their HD DTH Boxes were 3D-compliant. Airtel claims that all existing HD set top box users as well any new ones will be able to access 3D content on their TVs. Airtel projects that LCD TV sales are bound to be 40 per cent of all TV sales this year and it’s expected to grow even further. Adoption rates of HDTVs and 3D TVs is quickly increasing. Airtel hopes that this move to support 3D content on all the HD set top boxes will ensure that all of its customers are future-proofed. 3D-Ready but is the 3D content ready?
Airtel Digital TV has over 5.1 million customers. Airtel Digital TV also comes with an universal remote that allows users to operate the set top box, the TV and a number of other applications. Airtel Digital Recorder was also the first to allow users to record television on their set top box. |
