Google to Distribute MTV Clips

07 Aug, 2006, 7:30 pm IST | Priyanka Pradhan | Windows

Google will now begin distributing clips from MTV Networks to other Web sites through its video service. Google will offer over 100 hours of programming from MTV, including clips from "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County," "SpongeBob SquarePants" and MTV's Video Music Awards to web sites that are in its AdSense network. The deal is set to be tested later this month, and is expected to expand video through Google's advertising network to a variety of sites. This is the first time Google will distribute ad supported videos across its AdSense network from a major programming provider. The exclusive deal is also a first for MTV as it will, for the first time, lend its shows across the Web beyond its own web sites. Moreover, MTV will hog the largest share of ad revenue, which will be shared between Google's affiliate network sites and Google. Read more here.
