Close on the heels of Nokia's recent release of two new low-end handsets, Sony Ericsson has also got into the act and launched four new handsets directed at emerging markets. T270 Two of the new models launched in the country are the T270 and T280 handsets. Both are slim candybar-styled mobiles that are under 13mm in thickness and built using brushed light metal with a glass finish. The T280 is equipped with a 1.3 megapixel camera, an integrated FM radio and Bluetooth. The T210 is designed with a more business-like feel. It has quick access to features such as the speakerphone but does not have a camera. It does have an FM radio. Both phones support WAP 2.0 XHTML. T280 The T270 and T280 will be available in the same colors, Silver/Black and Copper/Silver. They will be available in selected markets from Q1 2008. The other two handsets launched are the R300i and the R306i. Both have been designed keeping in mind a country like India that thrives on radio for entertainment. The R306i is a clamshell phone that comes with integrated stereo speakers, audio enhancing, and volume boost. It has 3D sound enhancement when used with the included headset, and there's a 1.3 megapixel camera. The R300i has a VGA camera and an integrated speaker. Both handsets support Bluetooth and TrackID. R300i Radio "The R300 Radio and R306 Radio allow you to tune in to your favorite music shows or sports reports, across both AM and FM broadcasts,” said Howard Lewis, Vice President and Head of Entry-Level Products at Sony Ericsson. “They certainly look and sound the part, offering a radio-inspired design and feature set with a choice of either a candybar or clamshell phone.” R306i Radio The R300 Radio will be available in two colors: Antique Copper and Steel Black. It will be available in selected markets from Q2 2008. The R306 Radio will launch in two colors: Coffee Black and Champagne White. It will be available in selected markets from Q3 2008. |
