Eidos celebrated the opening of their brand new studio in new Montreal with an announcement that’s gonna make you scream… are you ready for it, huh? … are you..? Bah! Who am I kidding? This build-up’s definitely not working (since you’ve already read the headline) so I’ll give it to you straight – Ladies and Gentlemen, Deus Ex 3 is officially in development (*applause*)! Rob Murphy, Managing Director of Studios at Eidos, had this to say: "This is a very exciting day for Eidos." "Deus Ex is one of our finest franchises, often cited as one of the best PC games of all time. By developing this game at our new cutting-edge Montreal studio we have the opportunity to really push the boundaries of expectation for Deus Ex 3." There’s no doubt that the original was amongst the finest games ever; Deus Ex 2: Invisible War was a complete crapfest though, and I sure as hell hope that they don’t make the third iteration anything like it. Either way, here’s wishing the guys at Eidos new Montreal luck, and hoping that they give us great games for many years to come. [Via 1up.com] |
