Fallout 3 Will Have More Than 200 Endings

26 Mar, 2008, 9:00 am IST | Nikhil Singh |

If you’re the kind of person that doesn’t mind playing a game time and time again to see each one of its alternate endings, you’re going to spend a lifetime playing Fallout 3! In the official Xbox podcast, Bethesda’s Todd Howard revealed that the game has over 200 endings! Here are a few quotes from the podcast:

"Over 200 endings, since last week. The 12 endings was surpassed sometime ago.

The game is twice bigger than what they thought in the beginning.

...just one humanoid-type companion, and another NPC like Dogmeat. Dogmeat can die, but they are working on his health and how you maintain him.

The game is finished, but needs a lot more polishing and testing, they are doing many playthroughs; they keep adding stuff, sometimes it takes 100 hours to play, just the main quest takes about 20 hours.

Absolutely tracking at fall 2008."

The Fallout universe has always been humungous, but 200 endings is just too crazy to comprehend! Makes me wonder how good the endings are since it’ll be pretty insane to have more than 200 completely unique endings with their own diverse cutscenes. For all you know the endings will be a combination of different cutscenes, depending on what decisions you've made throughtout the game. So what he probably meant was that there'll be 200 possible combinations; but you never know, these guys are crazy enough to make 200 completely unique cutscenes.
