It’s a known fact that developer Bungie has made more money that the GDP of most countries after three Halo games but in recent times they’ve expressed interest in working on new IPs especially after their split with Microsoft. According to a rumor floating around in the October issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, the next Halo game (temporarily dubbed Halo 4) is being developed by none other than Brothers in Arms creators Gearbox Software. But wait... there’s more. Halo 4 apparently won’t be released on the Xbox360 but on a newer version of that console making Halo 4 a next-gen game. Even if this rumor is true I really have no clue as to how Gearbox Software are going to allocate resources to such a colossal project while they still have their hands full with Borderlands and Aliens Colonel Marines. More to be revealed in the near future I guess. Via Joystiq. UPDATE: Well it seems that the above mentioned news was just a rumor. Gaming blog Destructoid got in touch with Gearbox Software who did confirm the same. |
