Along with the announcement that Rock Band 2’s all ready to ship this September (for both, the Xbox 360 and PS3), comes this great revelation - in an interview with IGN, the game’s lead designer revealed that the game will supposedly support all the content you’ve downloaded for the original Rock Band! Here’s the scoop: IGN: The most important question. Will Rock Band 1 DLC be playable in Rock Band 2? Dan Teasdale: Yes. We've been developing Rock Band as a music platform from the start. All of the songs that you've purchased so far (and will be able to purchase in the future) are instantly playable and fully supported in Rock Band 2. We've even added some cool new features that let you play your DLC in different ways, which I think people will be very excited to get their hand on. While it’s only logical that a sequel of this sort should support the DLC you pay for, from an older game, I really wonder why it was never done with the Guitar Hero games. Anyway, Kudos to Harmonix for implementing this DLC backward compatibility! |
