Developer Rockstar who’s most famous for ripping on other games in their franchises somehow didn’t like it when they were at the receiving end of a little harmless banter. EA’s upcoming Simpsons game that’s based on the movie of the same name has been poking fun at nearly every game out there, including Medal of Honor (Medal of Homer), Guitar Hero (Sitar Hero) and so on. However, when it came to a Grand Theft Auto parody (Grand Theft Scratchy) Rockstar played spoilsport and lodged a complaint with EA. Here’s what Greg Rizzer, the game’s designer told CVG in a recent interview: "I was always under the impression that when you do parody, it's a sign of respect... If we make fun of Grand Theft Auto, we're not going to hurt the sales of Grand Theft Auto... But yeah, we've definitely had some reactions – we've had to pull stuff from the game." For shame Rockstar, for shame! |
