Spec Ops: The Line Announced

Once you get past the rather stupid name Spec Ops: The Line, it seems like an interesting proposition. It takes place in Dubai, a shopper’s paradise where I don’t think any game’s taken place before. In the near future some serious sandstorms have decimated Dubai leaving it a barren wasteland where you and your team are sent in search of a US army colonel. Besides the clichéd story what got me interested was the fact that sand will play an important role in gameplay shape-shifting from time to time to give you that much needed advantage (or disadvantage). Gameplay looks like a mix of Killzone 2 (from a third person perspective) and Gears of War. But don’t take my word for it. Check out the trailer embedded below. Spec Ops: The Line will release on the PS3, PC and Xbox360 sometime next year. |
