BioWare Forums Hacked

17 Jun, 2011, 10:17 am IST | by Avinash Bali | Gaming

Hacking seems to have become a huge trend in 2011 so it should surprise no one that developer BioWare (Mass Effect series) are the latest victims of a malicious hack. According to GameInformer, a server on their NeverWinter Nights was broken into resulting in the pilfering of nearly 18,000 accounts. Luckily the details in those accounts include harmless stuff like usernames and passwords to the forums as opposed to personal stuff like credit card information or social security numbers.

Here’s the official statement from BioWare themselves,

We take the security of your information very seriously and regret any inconvenience this may have caused you. If your username, email address and/or password on the Neverwinter Nights forums are similar to those you use on other sites, we recommend changing your password at those sites as well. We advise all of our fans to always be aware of any suspicious emails or account activity and report any suspicious emails and account activity to Customer Support at 1-866-543-5435.

So yeah, if you happen to be on those forums, kindly change your Username and Password ASAP.
