Cult classic Psychonauts to come to PlayStation 3

Psychonauts, one of the most legendary, classic games of all time, has been missing out on the console action ever since its debut on the PlayStation 2. Finally, the game is going to be released for the current generation of consoles in the form of a release on PlayStation Network (PSN). The game is set to come to PSN next week on August 28.
Psychonauts is coming to PSN
Psychonauts is the story of a young boy, Razputin, who runs away from his parents’ house because he doesn't want to join the circus. He goes to a summer camp for psychic children in the hope of becoming a psychic secret agent. The main feature of the game is that apart from some levels and the overworld, all the levels are in the minds of different characters, where Raz has to sort through their problems, emotional baggage and in some cases, insanity.
The game was made by Double Fine studios, which is famous for smaller indie games such as Stacking. Double Fine had also made Brutal Legend, which was a love letter to the metal music culture of the 80s and 90s, but the game was very poorly received. Double Fine was founded by Tim Schafer, who previously worked at Lucas Arts back when adventure games were a thing. Tim Schafer was the mind behind the critically acclaimed but financially failed Grim Fandango.

Grim Fandango is the story of Manuel Calavera, a grim reaper, who is a glorified travel agent in the game. The game is set in the land of the dead, according to Aztec mythology, and takes place over four years on the Day of the Dead. Grim Fandango is defined by its film noir presentation and surreal art style. The story of the game revolves around Manuel Calavera looking for Mercedes Colomar, who lived a saint but was denied her reward in death. The game didn’t do very well financially mostly because it was released in the same year as Half-Life.
Tim Schafer had started a Kickstarter campaign earlier this year in an attempt to create an old-school adventure game in the style of the older Monkey Island games. The Kickstarter campaign was created because big game publishers these days don’t think that an adventure game is viable for business in this day of Call of Duty and Gears of War games.
